SkyVisor Solar launches SkyVisor Historical Comparison, a module-level defect comparison feature. Here’s what to look forward to:
Until now, SkyVisor Solar has given you a clear picture of what’s wrong on a site at a single point in time. Every inspection produced its own snapshot: defects detected, severity, and production loss, but solar assets aren’t static. Modules degrade, get repaired, and get replaced, building up a history across dozens of inspections over their lifetime. Without a way to connect those snapshots, teams were left comparing reports manually to answer simple questions like “is this the same defect as last time?” or “did the repair actually work?”
SkyVisor Historical Comparison closes that gap. By tracking defects at the individual module level across inspections, SkyVisor Solar can now show not just what’s wrong, but what’s changed: which defects are new, which are recurring, and how a module’s condition has evolved over time.
When a module shows a defect type that wasn’t present in the previous inspection, the defect is flagged as new. This shows up in:
This is only available if at least one previous inspection exists for the site.
The statistics page now includes more graphs:
You can select any module from the map, with or without a defect, or a defect from the list to see a module ID card with:
The module’s defect history: a list of defects from previous inspections on that module. You can select a past defect to compare it side by side with the current one. Each defect record includes:
