New Release: SkyVisor Historical Comparison | SkyVisor Solar

SkyVisor Solar's new Historical Comparison feature tracks defects at the module level across inspections, flagging new vs. recurring issues and letting teams compare current and past defects side by side. It's backed by new defect indicators, an expanded statistics page, and detailed module ID cards.

SkyVisor Solar launches SkyVisor Historical Comparison, a module-level defect comparison feature. Here’s what to look forward to:

  • New defect indicators
  • An improved statistics page
  • SkyVisor Historical Comparison

The Key Advantage

Until now, SkyVisor Solar has given you a clear picture of what’s wrong on a site at a single point in time. Every inspection produced its own snapshot: defects detected, severity, and production loss, but solar assets aren’t static. Modules degrade, get repaired, and get replaced, building up a history across dozens of inspections over their lifetime. Without a way to connect those snapshots, teams were left comparing reports manually to answer simple questions like “is this the same defect as last time?” or “did the repair actually work?”

SkyVisor Historical Comparison closes that gap. By tracking defects at the individual module level across inspections, SkyVisor Solar can now show not just what’s wrong, but what’s changed: which defects are new, which are recurring, and how a module’s condition has evolved over time.

New Defect Indicators

When a module shows a defect type that wasn’t present in the previous inspection, the defect is flagged as new. This shows up in:

  • The key metrics
  • The defect list, which can be filtered by new
  • The generated PDF report (detailed version), also filterable by new

This is only available if at least one previous inspection exists for the site.

Improved Statistics Page

The statistics page now includes more graphs:

  • Severity breakdown (shown as a pie chart)
  • Defect type evolution
  • Production loss evolution
  • New defects by type (if a previous inspection exists)

SkyVisor Historical Comparison

You can select any module from the map, with or without a defect, or a defect from the list to see a module ID card with:

  • SkyVisor ID
  • Serial number
  • Module model
  • Installation and replacement dates

The module’s current defect

The module’s defect history: a list of defects from previous inspections on that module. You can select a past defect to compare it side by side with the current one. Each defect record includes:

  • Resolved status (editable on the current defect)
  • Note, root cause, and next step (editable on the current defect)
  • Temperature information
  • Thermal and visible imagery
  • Comments and files
